Site Council

Present: Brown, M.B., Buchholz, J., Cimino, M., Hoffman, T., Lawrence, K., Plager-Brockway, M., Pulsipher, T., Swanson, D., Williams, S.

 

Mr. Cimino called the meeting to order at 6:04 pm.

 

Sports Court: Mr. Cimino updated the committee on the Sport Court plan. Construction is to start as soon as weather permits.

 

Call for Topics: During the remainder of the meeting, members discussed possible future projects to be sponsored by the Site Council. To assist with this, Mr. Cimino distributed the 2007-08 School Improvement Plan. This plan includes a summary of priorities that had been identified by staff. The committee had previously identified several areas of curriculum that are a concern, but many of these areas are being targeted by district groups or pending on legislation from the state. The goal for the JMS Site Council would be to identify an issue within its purview Hand make a positive change for students, parents and staff at JMS. Some topics mentioned include: Health Curriculum, Food Service, Parks and Rec Program, and Student Orientation.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.

 

The next meeting will be held January 8, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the library.
