II. = Old Business

A.&n= bsp; Facilities Advisory Committee Letter

1. Reviewed

2. Letter was sent to Tim= Burns, in charge of Facilites

3. Site Members were poll= ed and all requested Mr. Cimino to send letter to superintendent and school board members. Site council members present requested their names to be signed on the letter.=

B.&n= bsp; Remodel- Facilities recommendation group

1. Meet last week and the= y will meet again in 3 weeks

2. They will take answers= from the answers from the public questionnaires along with the architect’s recommendations to report to the OSD school board

3. We are current 2 withi= n the district regarding need.

C.&n= bsp; Curriculum

1. OSD is not renewing an= y 1 year contract nor are retire-rehires contracts being renewed. =

2. They are cutting 1 tea= cher from Jefferson which they will have to break that teachers duties up and sp= lit amongst the facility

3. This summer staff and administration is working on curriculum consistency within same subject . This summer they will also be reva= mping schedule of classes and when health blocks or timing of health would work b= est.

III. = New Business

A.&n= bsp; Membership for Next year

1. Jefferson site council= is losing several members next year. We thank Lucy Gentry and Dan Swanson for their years for service.

2. Tamarah Hoffman will m= ake up a notice for Site council and Dave Yantis will get the notice out to LP Brown= .

B.&n= bsp; Music Program

1. Discussed touring of HS orchestra to school and elementary schools.

2. We whole-heartily supp= ort any efforts regarding all levels of the music program and encourage all schools= to open opportunities for children at all ages to experience music in all form= s.

C.&n= bsp; Discipline Policy

1. Lucy was request to br= ing discipline concerns to the site council.&n= bsp;

2. Question: Is the disci= pline harsher than in the past?

3. Answer:

a. Jefferson uses a progressive discipline policy

b. There is always two sides of the s= tory

4. Site Council recommended Mr. Cimino to re-communicate the discipline policy. Howeve= r, this discipline policy is in the student handbook, which is signed. All students had a discipline asse= mbly at the beginning of the year and should aware of the consequences of their behavior in regards to wild waves.

D.&n= bsp; Kids after School

1. Students can stay until 3:30 in hom= ework club or Mr. Hughes for Math

2. Until 3:45 in the libr= ary

3. Until 5:30 in Parks an= d Rec

4. However, students are = not allowed to be outside unsupervised, climbing on the bike rack, etc. they will be ask to go home or com= e into one of the opportunities above.

E.&n= bsp; Free and Reduce Lunch Forms

1. Discussed the reeducation of filled= out application in middle school from the number that is filled out in elementa= ry school

2. Mr. Cimino stresses in= his visit with the 5^th graders, no one will know if they are on free= and reduced lunch the cards are the same.

3. Site council also sugg= ested the form was translated into Spanish and other languages.
