Site Council

Members Present: Baranski. J., Brockway, M., Cimino, M., Gentry, L., Komoade, S., Lawrence, K., Smith, K., Swanson, D., Williams, S.

Mr. Cimino called the meeting to order at 6:10 pm.

Math Committee: Mr. Cimino asked for a parent volunteer to sit on the district Math committee. The committee is charged with reviewing Math curriculums and will be selecting a program to be implemented throughout the district by the end of this calendar year. Follow-up: Mariel Plager-Brockway to represent Jefferson/Westside parents.

Library Chairs: The drive to donate monies for replacement of library chairs continues. Approximately 12 chairs have been ordered and fifty are needed to complete the library. Follow-up: Monthly.

Support Services: The director of Support Services, Julie DeRuwe, presented to the committee. Ms. DeRuwe reviewed major projects that she has undertaken since April. At Jefferson, this has included stripping of hallway floors, replacement of fire alarm, painting of locker room floor and pressure washing of the exterior building. Ms. DeRuwe has also focused on designing a program for systematic data gathering to analyses the progress of the districts buildings. This data will help support her list of proposals to the Budget Advisory Committee.

The next Site Council meeting is scheduled for December 5, 2006 at 6:00pm. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30p.m.
