Hello Jaguar Community! Happy Friday! 

As we move through the month of October, this is a great time to check in with your student about how they’re handling the responsibilities of this new grade. In particular, please log into Skyward to make sure you’re able to see how grades and missing work are going. You could also ask your child to show you their Schoology account to get a more detailed picture of their work and progress. And finally, please build in the routine of checking their planner at the end of each week. Planners are a new practice at JMS, and we’re just getting started with using them as a tool of communication between school and home. You should see homework written into the planner, and in the coming weeks, you’ll also see that students will be writing in their JagTime destinations and the content they’re working on in classes. 

Conferences will come up at the end of the month, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to connect with you in support of our students’ growth as learners, as individuals, and as contributors to our community. Please mark your calendar for conferences!

We know that some of you may be involved in meetings regarding our district’s plans for the future, and we recognize that the season of decision making and change can add extra stress and uncertainty for families. At JMS, our focus is on our students, and every day is an opportunity to support them, build positive relationships, and empower them in their learning.

Jefferson will participate in The Great ShakeOut, a nationwide earthquake preparedness drill. Students and staff will practice earthquake safety procedures.

Need extra time to finish homework or catch up on assignments?

Study Table is available every Tuesday until 5:15 PM. This is a great opportunity for students to get extra work time and academic support.
