Woodshop & Materials Technology

Material Tech

Material Tech explores the world of graphic design alongside printing and manufacturing.  Students will work on creating original designs in Adobe Illustrator and TinkerCAD and then see them come to life via the vinyl cutter, laser engraver or 3d printer.

This hands-on class will prepare students to work with clients, manage projects and deadlines and produce high quality work.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in the MakerSpace club and if they choose to compete regionally with SkillsUSA.

Woodshop

This course is aimed at any student interested in learning about the world of wood working and construction. The students will learn how to work with a variety of machines and processes found in the carpentry and wood working trades. During this course students will learn how to plan, select and use materials, including tools and machines to produce a finished product. Emphasis will be on safety, time management and quality of workmanship. Students will also work on presentations related to the art of woodworking and on construction trades.
